Black and Blue

Okay, Eric, we absolutely have to stop talking and drawing in come-true circles......

So tonight, when I went bolting out the door, hippie love child on the run, because Kimbies called me, and needed me....and she rarely ever asks for help....

I flew into her drive-way like super sib

and we clanked a beer, she in her jamma's and me in my dirty jeans, on the front porch, and put on our "everything's gonna be okay" faces and went to face the troops....

We had to smile first, to gain the strength, the ammo, the "we can do this if we have to"....

And it was then,
at the last second, when I was ("yes, she was jumping up and down") pantomining the precious little magpie fairies I spent the day with Saturday, that I lept up in the air just so.....("yes, she was acting like a four year old") and landed, firecracker pop, to my foot, my shin, my "oh my God, I'm going to throw up"...("Yes , she turned white as a ghost, but never cried, shook, but never cried") and ("Yeah, we had to get a bucket") ...

And it was then,
that poor Kimbie"s hell week
took a nose dive on the living room carpet
with
super sib
crumbled
and
white....
And then
that they called the good doctor, the blessed man I work for, and said....
"Should we meet you at the emergency room or the office?"

It's midnight now, and God bless Kimbies and her commotion, I wasn't any help. And Chey and her own private hell, for driving two towns over to click the x-ray button, hold the bucket, and mix the plaster. And The Boss for always being there. And my precious child for being home from college and being ballet strong enough to pick her Mama up and tote her over the threshold.

"Nuts and bolts" he said.
"And we can put you back together"

Arrrrrggggghhhhhh!

And you still have the stregnth to document the rush of events that led up to your eight point landing, defining each strand with the colors, even if there's just two colors to choose from tonight.

My Pistons cap is off to you, Hippie Queen of the blue on black bayou.

Of course, I wish you recovery at god speed.

Listening to old Jimmy Page, White Summer/Black Mountainside.

Hope you got your beer and your tunes loaded up. It's going to be quite a workout for your imagination, friend.

healing comes from these.

eric....:)
the fall from grace was sudden, snapping, crackling, popping.....
thank you for the spills sonnet on spells....you caught my cussing mid-air, a wild butterfly gone mad for just a moment....four hours sleep came sudden and hard....and I miss them already!

And yes, healing comes from those!
Clink!
Gotta figure out how to dance in nuts and bolts and concrete blocks!

Jaysis, it doesn't just come in threes I think but fours and fives and mores. So sorry to hear of the fall. Wishing you the speediest of recoveries.

Awwwww....my sister loves! I hate this for you, for the dancehall come Saturday night & for all that it is worth ... you still are super-sib to the rescue. Poor Kimbies needed a distraction from the emotional drama unfolding in her four corners & I think your physical trauma did that.

"Walking on pins & needles" seems to be a lifestyle for the moment for the women in our world right now, only you are doing it literally. I thank all goodness that it was your foot and not your hip or your back. GILY&HTTHH

Eric...next poem should be about sudden surprises of the best kind, about winning when one didn't even know they were playing, about finding something special that you didn't know was lost & everything wonderful. You are the spinner of words. Take the dough that never rose to make a loaf & turn it into a beautiful & delicious pretzel in the shape of a peace sign. xoxox

"ma, you're not eighteen anymore!"

You're the prophetic one. And the whole blue on black theme we work together. What profound art, so true to be, and so f---in' good.

SLB
I hear you. Who knows what colors tonight will reveal to the naked eye. Thanks for the peace and the love.

Both of you.

eric....when we set up our fortune telling tent..... I'll wear blue mascara and we'll both wear jeans we can scribble on! Hoping everything is working out at Dad's and this part of the road trip is a good one....a wayside park, just waiting on you....And school, that's perfect, it's all going to fall into place....just the way it's meant to be!
Clink! My friend, over and over again!

scott....thank you....And where was the handsome prince when I was tumbling from grace?

mindy....girl, I gotta catch on to this....I am accident prone! Trying to figure out now how I can still go dancin' on Friday.... Or at least go smiling!

singleton said...

spongy....yeah, I do. You're not gonna report me, are you? :)

suchacoolcat...."the humpty dumpty princess"...I love it! So much cooler than what they've been calling me.....Trainwreck!

Loved this post, in spite of the bad news it brought with it. I liked the way it broke into poetry in the middle. I love doing that, it makes for such unpredictability in story telling as an art.

You too don't settle for ho-hum garbage.

Now I'm needing to do laundry, and I can't find the suds. And there's no 7's here! Argg!

Gotta fat roach from last night, though. Things are cool.

Peace and love and the porch party princess will live forever. Despite being accident prone.

Clink?

Hey Singleton,
Sorry about everything :( and sorry I haven't been around in a while I've been busy with work lately.

But anyways I have another poem posted, you'll love it. :D

Get well soon, later. :)

singleton said...

eric...I've got the suds, but I can't get to the laundrey room and can't get this "fat one" through the leg of my jeans! Clink!

benji....Thank you! They just have me taped together now....Nuts and bolts go in in a week! Yikes!

drips....:) hey guy! Well if I can figure out how to sit in a perfectly good chair and not fly out of it, I might make a pretty good Friday night spectator!

mavin...busy times, I know, and I just snuck over there in my early morning foggy headed jammas, and love it, you're right, I love it!

justme....funny thing is, there wasn't, but I commented on the moon, a Martini moon slipped to the right, as if someone had carlessly placed her in the sky! And no I'm not left handed, but I wish I was left footed! At least that way I could drive:)

karoline...isn't it strange how peace can come on the tailfeathers of commotion? Well, that's kinda what happened! Rock the boat good and hard, get everybody runnin' in different directions/distractions and pretty soon all the hoo-hah becomes little more than ho-hum! It's all good!
