At the ballet....

"Hush, hush, sweet" butterfly,
Butterfly "don't you cry"....

I watched her today, dancing in the heat of an arrogant sun, crickets screeching at her quietness, a never ending siren of background static. They make a lousy orchestra. Their music tragic. She doesn't care.... She tip-toes across the fence line, a yellow ballerina with transluscent wings, eyes heavy with mascara, flitting from stage to stage.....

Never caged.

I splash. Just a little. Paint ripples with my fingertips. Plunk! A whisper in the water. I'm being very careful. Very still. Floating. Watching the subtle changes in the deep, deep water. I don't want to change the butterfly effect.

Hopefully she doesn't notice, and keeps on dancing.

golden sun splash
ripple on the surface
the echoes swirling and reacting
in a dance as hot as she is

you would swear
she follows you everywhere
but really
she loves us all
everytime
and everywhere

love this post about your ballerina sun sister. I think that's who our mystery ballerina is, anyway! Nice to read you once more, friend.

Nature's dance is by far the richest.
Butterfly landed on my van door handle yesterday. I put my finger out and he walked on my hand for a minute before flying off. He wanted me to see his glorious orange and BLUE wings. He was a splendid little creature.

exactly, on the butterfly and her effect on everything. I love the concepts you deal in, especially peace love and clink!
tink! (I'm drinking a shot now, so get the mich's out whenever you have a fancy to do so.)

I like how it tells us how your day was. The picture says it all, both in content and in the perspective taken from.

You are the soul of art, great lady. And that's why I write you every day. To stay in touch with that soul that so helps my own to sing.

peace

clink!

I spent the weekend wondering about butterfly effects myself. I think they've accepted me as one of their own.

My daughter maintains butterflies are the souls of people.

shrink....well, I don't know about that, but if I had wings (And sometimes I'm sure I really do) then I'd probably be the first mermaid-to-fly...and can you just imagine the effects?

dan...well, sometimes I see through champagne colored glasses, and the world is a lovely place to be!

eric...well, you started early, my friend, but you've got the ritual down pack! I'll clink ya momentarily, happy hour is ours!

Wow, visual, mind, and words together created this butterfly effect..this is one of the most powerful piece of art I have seen.

Love the way you use the visual to suggest the words, ballet, dance, sun, butterfly etc, etc,..just like Eric 313 comments ...the picture say it all..

here's the thing, singleton: i read what you write and i find myself splashed by your feelings as well as my own. often i don't always get which of many possibilities you are writing about, because there is always mystery around your corner.

that makes what you say even more compelling.

so there.!

Calm and gentle.

I stood by a flat ocean last night, dark but of only the full bright yellow moon in the sky.

These troubles.. oh, my. Nonetheless, such beauty out there, if only something as cliche as the ocean and the moon.

So beautifully written and inspired by one tiny fraction of Nature's dazzling splendor. Wonderful. Thank you.

Beautiful butterfly, swirling, turning... comes to visit. It is a spirit taking a journey. You can see them and talk to them if you let yourself. They always have something to say, a message, a good thought to embed in our minds eye and our heads.

Wonderful news about Kimbies. Some answered thoughts and vibrations perhaps. The outcome of the positive energy sent from all over on so many levels. Ours is at full tilt, but on track and looking better.

May the circle be unbroken. A little wider when I'm a way, but never unbroken.

Peace to you and all you hold dear.

When I was a child, I was told that butterflies were the spirits of our loved ones long gone, coming to visit and check out how we are. I still believe that..
