I Drink Beer!

I drink beer.

I started early. I’m not proud of it, but this is the way the story goes. I drink beer. Million used to splurge and buy Heinekens and we would ride around in the green van blasting Deep Purple, drinking imported beers and laughing. We’d tell stories, that got deeper as we plundered further into the six pack, and sometimes….we would stop at ABC, lurking in the parking lot, until he would find another lost soul and bribe them into buying us more…and then we would tell stories that made us cry. Hug each other. Love each other.

And sometimes we would just laugh. And drive further. And maybe faster.

It was dangerous.

I outgrew that driving and drinking stage. (And thankfully lived !)

Now, I just drink beer. Ice cold Michelobs, stacked in the fridge like other people pile cheese and milk and broccoli. I drink beer. I don’t do the drunk girl wobbling aimlessly thing, the drown in my cup of spilt sorrows thing, the I’ll take off my clothes if I’ve had too many thing, the watch me cuss you out thing. I just drink beer.

I love the cold bubbly feel of it. The shape of the bottle. The way it tastes.

Oh God, your Mother’s going to hate me…..

No Singleton...we don't do those crazy beer induced things anymore...but we sure did have some fun times...both beer induced and not...didn't we? Now I drink wine...can't handle the fullness of too many beers...Love you!

I drink beer, too. Just last night I was talking with friends about the beer we used to drink and how different (and so much better) it is now. Long live the microbrew and the foreign import! haha.

OMG Persichetti! And how about Champagne! That almost killed us!
DO NOT DIAL GERMANY when you are toasting an entire bottle of champagne down the hatch! LOL!

JUSTRUN....ahhhhh, it is so much better now! Might also be that we aren't drinking from the bottom of a sun-warmed tilted keg anymore! Actually have our own bottles!

SLB....
You should drink more and more often WITH ME!

I like something sweeter, mixed drinks. All the talk of drunken antics brings back memories though. Hehee! ...Hey, sorry if that line in my death poem freaked you out. It was written about an abusive boyfriend who asked me to wait for him (never date again) so we could be together in the afterlife. Now i don't want a meaningless fling, but i wouldn't want to die with him thinking i "saved myself" for him. I want to break the ties. Wow, anyone who didn't read that poem might think i'm drunk right now. : p

I've always wished I was one of those girls that could down a good beer, hold her own with the guys. But I can't. I hate beer. I have to accept it: I'm a wine drinker for life.

It didn't exactly freak me out, just sort of crawled under my skin, and that's an entirely other story! I loved how you put into words, beautiful words actually, the wicked web we weave. And as for sweeter drinks! Enjoy!

PBG...
Sip the wine! swish it! savor it! And I bet you can still hold your own with the guys! I almost know it!

I, too, drink beer. I drink beer in the shower. I love the way the bottle sweats.
