Fairytales always end....

With the same two words... The End.

Funny , isn’t it? That after hundreds of years no one has come up with a better line. Oh Yeah, sometimes it is preceded by the infamous silly little line… “and they all lived happily thereafter:” Abruptly followed by “The End”.

Good thing I’m not a fairytale writer, a Harlequin novelest….

I might have changed history....

To be continued……..

Awesome pic...I am so glad that life isn't like fairy tales. It all looks hunky dorey and stuff but it always ends.

LOL, Yes! ROTFLMAO... And 'Once upon a time' can become 'I remember once...'
Can't wait for the continuation!

Angely...Thank you. And you're right..."but it always ends"... Unless you drop the book in the pool and the last 15 pages float away from the spine and when you lay them out in the sun to dry, the words are all bleached out...And it's just the way we imagined....to be continued...

Bardouble....yup, help me out here!

SLB...and "a long, long time ago" would mean yesterday......

Silly Singleton. it's all about the length of the story. It's all about anticipating THE END. If there wasn't an end, would you ever pick up the book? Ever pick up a book knowing the ending is going to suck but you just have to read it anyway? How many times have you heard "Great Story but the end really sucked" It's all about the story. Not THE END.

I like this ending so much more - leaves room for my imagination to run as wild as it wants and continue the adventure!!!

The end isn't really the end. It's all that you can read, but the story always goes on just like life itself. Think this way. When sleeping beauty married the prince, they had to go back to the castle and have some fun on the balcony of the royal bedroom.

And the old lady that loived in the shoe must have gotten some relief when that last one of her brood grew up and left the nest. I bet she really got down and started doing something that she has always wanted to do but couldn't because she was so busy with all her children.

Romeo and Juliet may have died, but certainly thery met on the other side and spent eternity together.

Don't let the words fool you. You live and love and stories have ended with people who have crossed your own path sometime in the past. Their lives are going on as well.

So, think of it as the end of the words, not the end of the story.

Peace.

I dunno about anyone else, but I always do this *sigh* at the end of a good story- like a cathartic sigh. Without those two words, I don't know if I would sigh quite the same way. Perhaps no one has thought of an alternative because the two words are all that is needed.
