The Old Man is Snoring.....

This is what it was like in the beginning. The morning after Tropical Storm Faye arrived. Before the rains never went away. Before they had to send out boats. Before there were fish in the streets, snakes in houses, baby pictures wilted and wet, floating like yesterday's garage sale signs....
.
This is Kimbies front yard rolling like a river.....And then the batteries in Olivias camera went dead and the view out the window went to sea...
.
But this time....On the seventh day, the river's yet to crest. Everyday more and more homes are gobbled up by mad water, racing, running, trying to escape, but with no where left to go but up.....
.
up the living room walls,
down the halls,
under the swingsets,
down the slides....
under doorways,
into mailboxes,
into the backseat of cars not moved soon enough.....
.
Everyday another Detour sign goes up, and another home is wrapped in yellow crime scene tape, an obscene picket fence for the news cameras...
.
My friend Shimmerings said it best,
"if only we could click our heels"......
.
There's no place like home.....
.
Pray for the sun....

... "there's no place like home"... "there's no place like home"... we've had terrible storms here, today, as the last little ribbons of rain continue to play out... I'm praying along with you, for all those whose dreams have washed away... "let the sun shine"...

Shimmerings....
Yes, let the sun shine and then,
even barefooted,
dirty footed,
jeans rolled up to the knees,
may the circle say
hallelujah
and the
healing
begin.....

peace~love
and there will be a rainbow...

Oh my friend,

I had no idea it was this bad...

Praying for peace,
for safety
for warm wings of sunshine
to envelope the rain

KJ....Oh, I can't imagine New Orleans....family lived in Pass Christian and the devastation....This is so strange, just a tropical storm, we've had them hundreds of times.....And then, water, Rising.....sinkholes growing, gobbling up the earth. But today, friends, today, the sun....Shining, smiling....Answering prayers!

No....So how'd he like our big city? I close my eyes to even ride through those city limits anymore! I think they did really good through this storm so I hope he had a good "working vacation"!

Maithri....
Prayers answered.
Just that quick.
And on the eighth day there was sunshine,
big, bold, golden,
elbowing the clouds outa her way!
She's still gotta lot of work to do, but
she's here....
Smiling....

She....
We're all good,
it's so strange, it's like an
innertube aura has
been thrown over our shoulders,
our roofs....
We're smack in the middle of chaos and we're just fine....
Bottling up your good wishes and passing them
hand over hand
two blocks down,
three....

Peace~love my friends
and thank
you so much for
all you are
and all you do...

Oh, the devastation,,,hard to imagine until I think back on our Catagory five tornado a few years back.

Reality comes banging at your back door.Everything gone within minutes!
So hard to witness such despair all around without feeling a twinge of guilt. Circled with debris, loss, pain and horror,,and yet you are safe.
I'm thanking God for that,,,,and praying for those in the paths of Gustav and Hanna.
Scarey times, yet there are miracles abounding, I'm sure of it!

Babs...we're all good, road blocks at every turn, ten thousand toads, and a lotta mud.....but our neighbors, literally, a spit throw, are drowning....and Hannah looming....100 year flood, they call it....
And soon, eventually, peace will come....

Ibeati....He's right here! Growing, loving. laughing! No batteries! Pictures soon!

Peace~love Girls...
