Ballad to Bobby Brown....

I saw you there. Inside out and backwards. 17 or 21, ID flicked, flipped, flashed.... you were a natural. I've imagined a million times what you would look like, walk like, talk like ten years, twenty, a lifetime from now. And then I saw you. In yesterday.

Toothy grin, crooked and upward, my favorite "I just had a shot" smile...Skinny legs, jeans too short, but frayed, worn, loved..."In case I meet a hippie".....Mind racing, writing Country Top 10 songs on legal pads, eyes dancing....rock and roll and punk...strobe lights flashing.....And that f'n grin....that gun it grin...race, tumble, roll....Gun it, grin...

I don't dream about you anymore. Wonder what you're doing. Tink you. But I miss you. And I saw you in yesterday. 20 years younger. Before you were you. And just so you know, I laughed....And danced ....

And when I came home,
jeans crumpled in a pile,
key in the door,
memories plopped on the kitchen counter,
I slept....
and thanked God I wasn't there in the beginning....

but was there for the end....

Deja Vue...

So beautiful... To be a part of your memories is to be part of a masterpiece that will never end.

Being there for the end of anything is so significant, it means dedication and it means love. So many people like to be there at the start of something, but only a few dare be there at the end.

So much said with so few words.
The "gun it" grin.
"jeans in a pile, key in the door"

If I didn't know you, I would have, by the time I read those lines.

Again I say it: You do this so well!

... reflections... that go on and on and on, like ripples on a pond... eternity in a flash... a Circle, forever unbroken...

Eric....
And I've learned so many times, that even in their going, leaving, changing....love grows. And that sometimes, it's in the aftermath, the quiet days to follow, the growing....
that we are given the greatest gift of all...
the memory...

Peace~love my friend

Babs....
Ahhh, but you do know me friend, and with one swift swoop, reached into the pandora's bag of yesterday and whisked out the very magic that marked the beginning....
the gun-it grin....

And there, in deja vue, I saw it, felt it, and laughed again....

And believed again...

Shimmerings....
yes....
And sometimes when the river's high, or the sun is low, the shape changes, the color fades to sepia, but still....
it's the circle.....
and it goes on and on and on....

Peace~love my friends
It is the circle

There is a song by the Fray called Over My Head with lyrics that go, "I've become part of the past."

You are so sweetly unique. And so is the picture of that tree. My God, I'm in love.

I am in awe,
that in this Big world
there could be
someone with such generosity
of thought and sensitivity of feeling
as you...

you can turn a memory
like a coin
and always
land it shiny
side up...

So that even
those of us
a world away
catch the glint
of silver
out the corner of
our eye..

And feel the leaves
rustling
through
riverside
trees...

Thank you
for helping
me believe again
this day,

Peace~love to you,

to friends
and the circle

and butterflies
turning
air into wind..
wind into water..

and water into
wine...

Loving you, M

Maithri....sweet soul...
"and the butterflies
turning
air into wind...
wind into water"....

Just beautiful....

Tonight we're a zillion hours into monsoons of rain....
Kimbies flooded in...
a river flowing out her front door
back door,
and she called me
stranded from her little island
to tell me about the frogs....
leaping, jumping, diving,
cannonballing in the yard...
and I could barely hear her for
the croaking chorus
as she stood in her backdoor
laughing,
drinking beer,
clinking the instant circus....

"and water into
wine"

May the circle be unbroken....
Peace~love my wonderful friend,
and maybe,
just maybe,
this Ole Storm could quit hoggin up the show and let the Sun show her
shiney face again....

I've not made it back that way since I left. I think of you. I will see you again. I know it. Italian restaurant on the porch. How I will never forget.
