I saw that ice chest baloney and beer brimming full,,,,ya can't fool us!

Glad to see your lamp on,,and OMIGOSH,,,frogs are cool,,but hoping Kimbies isn't riding any alligators around her place like we hear on the news!
Can't imagine what all that clean-up, post Fay party might entail!
Sending hugs,,,I'd help bail if I could!
Did the Good Doctor stay open?

skinny...you so know, sister! It's icin' down tonight! Miss you, miss you, missyou!

Persichetti....LOL! I know! I know! I know! That's why I didn't have the first candle, melted them all down to make wax seals and turn the chandelier into a fake candelabra! And flashlights! Are you kidding? I have a son, remember? Gotta love the Florida life!

Babs....This little light flickered on and off all night last night, after staying off just long enough to tepid my stock! Everytime it roared back to life, I flicked the computer back on and then poof! it was gone!
Kimbies is on an island, we can't get to her and she can't come out to play, but the pumps are on....Soon, maybe!
We opened everday, foolishly of course, today driving a zillion miles outa the way through rivers and roadblocks, to see one or two patients that really needed us. The Hospital here is flooded , the ER closed and they are transporting patients out...It's crazy
and
It's Friday!
Whoooooo! Hooooooo!
Cold beer!

Saw all your maddness on the news,,,what a mess,,,thinking of you all,,,,and the next round's on me!

Rafts & warm sunshine are on order. Please allow 3-5 business days for your items to arrive.

3-5 business days indeed ;)

Stay well and as dry as you can my friend,

Peace through the rain,

M

Holy Camoly! Hang in there, and it wouldn't hurt to drink a little warm beer... sometimes warm beer is better than no beer :P The last few days we have been overcast as a result of all this. Beautiful days for the tour boat, overcast and very little rain beyond a drizzle here and there, and with NO LIGHTENING (last weeks 3-hour tour came to a screeching halt because of too-close-for-comfort lightening bolts, which is the norm, here, this time of year)... because it's a nice break from the sweltering sun... last night was an entirely perfect evening cruise... but hope we will be back to sunny skies soon, for your sakes!

Think I could come up with a stronger word for hot beer -- ick. I had a friend once whose mother drank a warm millers before bed each night. Said it helped her sleep.
I love your writing. Really descriptive and interesting. Are you sure you have never read any Margaret Atwood?
Belated thanks for visiting my post on the old house and the schooldesk within. The old place is losing the roof to damage so it won't be long now! Wonder where Lisa is now? Maybe she's an old hippie too.

Pour it in the skillet and fry up some bangers with it...

Babs...We Clinked you! Cold beer and mudpuddles! And now, neighbors knee deep, waist deep, bailing out in boats....It is absolutely awful. This little house is high up, one, two, three steps in the air on a teeny weeny little piece of heaven, but all roads here are closed and houses are being swallowed. Pray for sun people!

karma....Even I have been surprised at how good a hot beer can taste! LOL!

skinny.....Countin'! The sun is workin' her little fanny off, trying, trying, trying, but the river runs north and the rains just keep comin'! Please try to explain to Orhan why we still love it here....

Maithri....Well Ma Nature is like any other business woman, 3 to 5 is as good as "when I get to it"! Sun keeps peeking her little noggin' out, but ahhhh, the rains..... And
suddenly
I'm on a mountain, blessed....
helicopters overhead,
pumps running,
neighbors floating...
and the little painted house,
safe....

Shimmerings....Well, there's the rainbow at the end! Beautiful days up there! Our little town is still sinkin, getting deeper by the minute....pumps running 24 seven, but nowhere to take the water! And still, the sun, she's trying.....Reminding us....to believe....

Goatman.....Ick! is a good word. I drank it for weeks during the hurricanes and hate to admit it, finally got to have a taste for it, but when the power went out this time, it all came rushing back like deja vue....."icky" deja vue and all I could remember was the line from an old movie..."Im mad as hell and Im not gonna take it anymore!" I really have never read any Margaret Atmore, but JSYK....I'm gonna put that on my list for the things to do when the sun comes out again and I'm floating in the lazy round river....
And of course, Lisa is a hippie...
can you save the school desk?
Before the sky takes over?

KJ....Muah! We're all good, it's just devastating to watch whats happening out my front door, my back door...literally....There are three ways home. The regular way, the visitor way, and the long way. They're all under water and it's not expected to crest until Wednesday...

Scott....You can't fry anything up in a pan when you don't have electricity!

Peace~love my friends
Pray for our neighbors....

kj said...

prayers being sent by first class air. look for them in the clouds. i can only imagine how difficult this is for you and your neighbors.

kj...Can I Muah! you again? We're all good, very blessed, an island in the middle of a muddy sea....My heart just goes out to everyone around us.....Almost no~one has flood insurance, we're high up...or we think we are...out of the 100 year flood plane...and literally hundreds of families are going to be left with just the land under their wings...

Peace~love my friend
and thank you....

I'm with Paiger.

However, in England beer is unusually warm everywhere you go.

There is a reason the English aren't as popular as they could be. I blame their procedures re: beer. Yes, yes I do.

Orhan....LOL! I don't understand why anyone with electricity would drink their beer warm! Perhaps you're onto something there! For me, on ice, please!

Ibeati.....Cheers, girl!
