Chicken F'N Noodle Soup
My mind races and the words get all mixed up like cold alphabet soup, …
I twirl the spoon and it spells….
nothing….
You don’t get it. I have to say it out loud for you to get it. Mispronounce the words and talk in etch-a-sketch language.
I pause.
Try to put them in order.
Take the spoon and plop the soggy “I’ve said this before” words up like little soldiers on the edge of the bowl.
It makes you crazy.
The pausing.
The waiting.
“What the hell are you gonna say next?”
I don’t know….
Right now, the soup is cold…..

S.,
Did you ever have words that when you read them silently, you always pronounced them wrong and suddenly, you heard them pronounced the "RIGHT" way by someone else and didn't even realize it was the same word? That is what your posting reminded me of.... "I have to say it out loud for you to get it. Mispronounce the words and talk in etch-a-sketch language."
For example, I used to read the word "melancholy" as "mel-ant-ch-oly." The first time someone actually said that word to me, I didn't even know they were saying the same word (because they pronounced it the "right" way).
Go ahead and take your time to say whatever you want to or need to. Language is so very subjective anyway.
No matter how many times I repeat to myself what I am ging to say, and no matter how many times the senario goes in my head, the words never come out the way I wanted them to in my head....
Change...never easy, but always necessary.
I don't get it lmao:]]
Western Family makes a version with bigger letters...
Eke! Whenever I have to repeat myself, I find at first that I change the words, keeping the gist the same hoping for understanding and if that doesn't work then eventually the words become the same thing over & over again...not like a broken record playing the same song though because but the meaning of them changes with each repeat.
Above & beyond that...roll your pennies & go buy some bacon. Chicken Noodle soup may be good for the cold, even the soul, but bacon...mmmmmm, it makes everything better ;)

I'm not going to lie to you, I am certainly confused. But a good sort of confused.
katherine....
yes! and sometimes just placing the emphasis on the wrong syllable will turn it upside down! Me, I usually make up words or meanings to words....
and then wonder why no one is getting my drift :)
bardouble....oh, I know, dress rehearsals are not meant for conversations!
nefty....:)
scott...ewwwww, I don't like fat soup!:)
slb.....I was just ranting! And anyway, I love old broken records, I have a stack of 'em here right next to me.....
peace little one
orhan...it's all good:)
I love your art you posted.. for some reason it reminds me of my daughter, always counting. She has OCD. Her eyes are that color too.
Very pretty!
Hey! Put some crackers in your soup. :)
smetimes i misspeak words i have used forever...today i am glad if i can remember the word at all...where are you in florida? I am on amelia island...blessings, rebecca
When I was in 1st grade, someone wrote s-h-*-t on the condensation on the school bus window. I went home and asked my mom what "SHITE" (long 'i') meant and she asked me to spell it, which I did, and she locked herself in the bathroom for 5 minutes (presumably so I wouldn't see her laughing) and then with a stright face told me what a 'bad' word it was!!!
That's it.
Sometimes we need to just forget the soup and go for the chocolate.
Ride the wave sister!
Slainte~

Oh yea, and I want some of your art. Nope. I NEED some of your art.
Soooo.... how do I get it? :))
Rachelle
Sometimes if you buy the cans with big letters they don't spill off your spoon and you don't dribble! HA!
Too bad there isn't a social situation microwave.
we really should wonder about soup with words in it...i try to never eat my words...
{{{singleton}}}
just eat the broth next time..
k
:)
If the words have all been said before, then it's OK to say anything we want to say, right? Still, few have a taste for cold soup so I do understand completely. Think I need to turn up the burner to.
Great poem with huge meaning.
Gotta love writing like that! Should
...should, anyways. I aways do that. It's my own metaphor for not being done yet, ever, I think.
Angela Marie...LOL! Crackers! I got concrete blocks floating around in there!
cre8tiva....I misspeak the entire language~! Can you belive, native Floridian here and never been to Amelia Island? I hear it is beautiful! I'm not on the beach, crave it.....but close....
New Smyrna....
lizard princess....out of the mouths of babes! Love it!
rachelle...
baby, I'm riding this wave....
And it's truly been the best, undertow and all!
Skinny handles all the pics...available through justgivemepeace.com and sometimes on E-bay, wander around justgivemepeace blog, they've all lived there at one time or the other!
Cheers! girl!
spongy....sometimes I think I should just settle for spray paint. Loud and clear. Like that! peace~love~
justacoolcat....Yup! And we could zap 'em! Like that!
karoline....OMG! I don't know why I'm not the size of a house, I've eaten so many words, swalled em whole sentences at a time! :)
eric...No, I don't like cold soup! Actually, I don't even like soup at all, I like gumbo, chock full of oysters and rice, peppers, tomatoes, jalepenas, and chicken!
peace, friend!
noodle letters; broth...
it's too bland for someone like you -at any temperature
melt some dark chocolate. top it with a keyboard
chase it with a cold beer
dance with your fingers
paint from your heart
talking is completely unnecessary!
Cicken f'n noodle. My my. You had me at hello!
xo
she...amen! chasing it down right now!
blue...you got the punch line, girl!
xo
frustrating--to speak and not be heard. i used to try to re-explain every which way. now i don't....
:)
kj....because sometimes in the re-telling, the words take on a different face....
:)
Change is scarey, especially if it's coming from someone you love. It's easier to mis-hear the message, pretend everything is the same.. x
shrink....you are so right, but even harder if it's coming from somewhere outside of each other's control, when the fateful hand of time just bang's her gavel......
peace, friend, in the wind she always wins.....
