Stupid Red Sky at Sunset

I've had enough time to not think...
to let the love affair settle...
busted tea leaves at the bottom
of an almost empty cup
And from here I can
almost see the things, the tiny
little moments of love
that swept me
like wet magnolia leaves in October
swirling, twirling,
Landing in a pile, stacked
haphazardly
against the lines I draw...
property lines...

You took nothing of me with you...
I snatch back all I ever offered...
And toss it on the porch

Leftovers

I LOVE LEFTOVERS!
Just when we think there's nothing left, we find ourselves so blessed to find leftovers...and they are sooo good!
Spaghetti & meatballs are always best on day 2 or 3.
Steak is great, cooked yet cold, the morning after a night of cooking out & drinking in.
Leftovers are the best...they've had time to soak up all the spices.
And...Love, my dear, is the spice of life.

Ah yesssss leftovers. That moment thinking about the person you do not want in your brain at all. Finding another thing amongst your belongings that make you think of who you want to forget more than something that just flushed. Seeing a car like theirs and not being able to not look to see if it is them. Ah good old leftover fodder. And yes I appreciate your poem's image. I think it is on my porch too.
